Logistics and Distribution Staffing Services
Cross-dock, transload, and freight handling crews for operations measured against appointment times rather than throughput alone. That measure changes who you hire.
Logistics And Distribution Staffing Designed For Your Workforce Needs
A storage warehouse is measured on accuracy and cost per unit. A distribution or cross-dock operation is measured against appointment times, and the staffing follows from that. Freight arrives on a schedule you do not control and leaves on one your customer sets.
That makes coverage the central problem. A pick line running two workers short finishes late. A cross-dock running two workers short misses a departure, and that cost reaches your customer rather than your labor budget. We staff logistics and distribution operations from 28 offices across eight states, and we build the crew around the schedule rather than around a headcount number.

Industries We Serve

What We Staff Across a Distribution Operation
Distribution covers a wider range of roles than most people picture, and the physical demands vary widely across them.
Inbound. Unloaders, container devanners, sorters, and receiving crews. Floor-loaded container work is the most physically demanding job in the sector and the hardest to keep staffed, so we screen for it specifically rather than as general warehouse labor.
Through the middle. Cross-dock operators, transload crews, freight handlers, sortation workers, and staging teams. Speed matters most here, because product is not being stored. It is being handled once and moved, and a worker whose pace drops at hour six creates a backlog behind them.
Outbound. Loaders, scanners, shipping clerks, dock workers, and returns processing crews. Returns have become a category of their own as e-commerce volume has grown, and the work is closer to inspection than to handling.
Luxor does not staff commercial drivers, drayage, or yard operations requiring a CDL. Our recruiters place the workers inside the building and on the dock.
Staffing For A Schedule Rather Than A Shift
Distribution labor moves in waves set by someone else. A vessel discharges, a rail set arrives, a customer moves an appointment earlier, a peak occurs three weeks ahead of forecast. None of that fits a standard shift pattern.
We build crews with that in mind. A core team sized for the normal week, and a flex layer that can be called against the schedule, so the headcount is not too large in a quiet week or too small when the volume lands. It also means weekend and overnight coverage as standard work.
Several of our offices work this rhythm daily. East Houston and Baytown on Port Houston volume, Savannah at Garden City Terminal, DeSoto inside the International Inland Port of Dallas, Columbus in the Rickenbacker corridor, and Carson at the Los Angeles port complex.
When your volume changes, the same representatives adjust the crew.

What You Can Expect From Luxor Staffing
Filling an order and covering a schedule are two different jobs. The first is a headcount transaction. The second requires knowing when your volume arrives and having workers ready before it does, which is what our offices in the freight corridors are built to do.
Built For Appointment Times
We size a core crew for the normal week and a flex layer for the wave, because a fixed headcount is wrong in both directions in this sector.
Offices In The Freight Corridors
Port Houston, Garden City, the Dallas inland port, the Rickenbacker corridor, and the Los Angeles South Bay. Our teams in those markets work container volume daily.
Weekend And Overnight Coverage
Freight arrives around the clock. Third shift and weekend coverage is a large share of what we fill.
Scale When The Wave Lands
Luxor specializes in staffing shifts of 300 or more employees. Surge is the shape our process was designed around.
